Softlayer Cloud Server
Cloud Server | Bare Metal Instance | Bare Metal |
Here is a brief rundown of the options available under the SoftLayer service from IBM. First we will look at their Cloud Server level. As you can see, all of the Cloud Server offerings feature 2.0GHz cores, with the price going up as you add more cores. |
The default is 1GB RAM, which gives a starting server price of $27.60 per month. That is 1 2.0GHz core, 1GB RAM, 25GB disk, 5000GB bandwidth, and 1 100Mbps public IP address. |
There is a variety of operating system choices. CentOS, CloudLinux, Debian, and Ubuntu all come at no extra cost. The various Microsoft and Red Hat choices all have an additional monthly fee. |
There are a number of configurable software options for your cloud server. |
The first 25GB of SAN space is included with the server. That can be upgraded to 100 GB, and additional disks can be added in sizes up to 2TB. |
The basic networking can be upgraded with more ports, a faster connection, and greater bandwidth. |
NAS is also available. |
